Guided activity

A complete business experience in 7 rounds

Teams run a gym in Faralia City. They submit decisions from any device. Each round combines explanation, decision, simulation, results and discussion.

The 7 rounds

The first four rounds focus on preparing the gym. The last three simulate Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 of operation. What is practised —price, premises, team, marketing, adaptation— is transferable to any business programme.

1

Business preparation

Business identity

Name, slogan and first definition of the value proposition.

2

Business preparation

Choosing the premises

Selection of the space, location, capacity, cost and fit with the strategy.

3

Business preparation

Human resources

Definition of the workforce, profiles, operating cost, professionalism, experience and customer service capacity...

4

Business preparation

Equipment and decoration

Initial investment, fit-out, perceived quality and getting the business ready.

5

Year 1 of the business

Operation and first results

First comparison of decisions, customers, revenue and costs.

6

Year 2 of the business

Adapting to events and competition

Strategic adjustments based on data and market changes.

7

Year 3 of the business

Closing, ranking, final analysis and report

Accumulated results, comparative reading and final documentation.

Realistic timing

The facilitator can run a compact session. The full 7-round experience with complete discussion needs more time.

Compact format

Up to 2 h 30 min of facilitation. It prioritises the key decisions and a closing with results. It fits when the schedule is short or when a specialised consultant provided by PSITEL takes part.

Full experience

7 rounds with explanation, submission, results and conversation. It usually fits into half a day or two blocks. The teacher decides how much debrief to insert between rounds.
